Södra receives Innovation/construction award in Poland
Södra received the Gold Medal Budownica in the Innovation/construction category at the BUDMA International Construction and Architecture Fair in Poland. The citation is that ‘Södra has marketed roofing timber and captured a substantial share of a market previously characterised by a traditional approach.’
“We have been a leader in the development of the Polish market for C24-classed roofing timber. Historically, Poland has been a market for rough, sawn and ungraded timber. We are now market leaders in C24 strength-graded and planed construction timber. This enables a considerably better end product, more exact installation and, obviously, a safer and sounder building. Part of the award was based on a test of our products at the Institute of Building Structures of the Poznan University of Technology. Our agent in Poland, Södra Polish, works actively to sell only C24 from us to its customers. The fact that customers only receive goods from one supplier is positive for us, because they are always receiving the same quality,” said Andreas Jonasson, Marketing Manager at Södra.
Efforts to continue marketing and developing the roofing business in Poland in a clear manner will now begin.
