Spira is ready – are you?

Spira, Södra’s paper pulp based on agricultural residues combined with our regular fibre, is ready for customer trials. We’d love to hear from you if you’d like to try this innovative new stand-alone grade in your mill.
Spira pulp is an important example of how we can use a residual product to make even more sustainable paper pulp. With excellent strength properties, it offers the opportunity to increase circularity without compromising performance.
Through our cooperative model, we are constantly looking at ways to refine and renew the values of family forestry. With a renewable raw material that is constantly growing, the possibilities are growing too. Believing in new and sustainable business opportunities means we are also open to technologies and solutions that do not currently exist.
This new Spira grade means that we can create more paper pulp from every tree in our 52,000 members' forests. This strengthens the profitability of family forestry and ensures an even more resource-efficient and circular flow of material.
It’s important to use forests and trees wisely, and to use wood fibre where it brings the greatest benefits.
If you’d like to know more, get in touch and start your trial!
